Use of AI and Chat Services

Ask Luma includes AI-powered features that allow you to chat with an automated high-performance coach and receive generated responses, plans, scripts, and suggestions. When you use these features, the text and information you enter into the app (“Chat Content”) may be processed by third-party AI service providers on our behalf in order to generate responses.

We currently use OpenAI, LLC (and/or its affiliates) as our AI technology provider. These providers act as our data processors and may process your Chat Content solely for the purpose of providing, securing, and improving their services to us, in accordance with our instructions and our agreements with them.

What We Send to AI Providers

To deliver the AI coaching functionality, we may send some or all of the following information to our AI providers:

  • The messages and prompts you type into the chat

  • Limited contextual information required to generate a relevant response (for example, your language, or app usage context)

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your Chat Content to show you third-party advertising. We take steps to minimize the personal information we send to our AI providers and to avoid including directly identifying details where reasonably possible.

Data Retention and Security

Our AI providers may temporarily store and process Chat Content to operate, secure, and improve their services, in line with their own privacy and security practices. We encourage you to review OpenAI’s privacy documentation to understand how they handle data in more detail.

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Sensitive Information

Ask Luma is designed as a high-performance and productivity tool. You should not use the app to share highly sensitive personal information, such as:

  • Medical or health information

  • Financial account numbers or payment card details

  • Government identification numbers or passwords

  • Information about children or other individuals without their consent

If you choose to share this type of information despite our recommendations, you do so at your own risk, and it may be processed in the same way as other Chat Content as described in this Policy.

Your Choices

You can choose not to use the AI chat features within Ask Luma. However, some app functionality may not be available without these features.
